Hello everybody!

This is an announcement that I will be moving my blog to a new home. You can find it on my website [www.junlikato.com] under “Blog.” Its basically the same blog with the same posts, just a new location 🙂 I won’t be closing this one quite yet, so if you would like to still follow me, make sure to follow the new one on my website.

New work is on its way to Behance soon! This time, we’ll be dealing with:

Breakfast!

Cereal boxes, breakfast drink, and breakfast pastry. Be warned: high sugar content ahead.

My BFA show has finally been installed and the reception was a huge success!

This was definitely a huge project and literal blood, sweat, and tears went into it (no, really.) I’m so happy that it turned out looking pretty much exactly like my mock-ups I had made earlier this year.

Thanks to all who helped me actualizing the piece and offering their hard work and labor. I wouldn’t have been able to complete it without you.

Entitled Half & Half (A Search) this piece deals with the search and understanding of my self-identity through growing up as a twin. This tackles issues regarding individuality, dependence/independence and self-worth.

All that’s left is taking it down (probably a more insane journey waiting to happen).

Hello peeps!

So I’ve been working on a lot of projects and sadly just haven’t been keeping up with the posts on a regular basis.

Today I want to share a packaging project I did a few months ago. This company is called “aeffects.”

2013-12-06 15.37.55

This project was designing for a cause. Think Tom’s and their One for One campaign: “With every product you purchase, TOMS will help a person in need. One for One.” So aeffects is a company that redirects part of its proceeds (40%) towards the fight against animal abuse and neglect.

I thought it’d be interesting to approach this in a more graphical sense- literally graphic. And instead of having such an overdone serious tone to it, I thought that making it a little more “fun” and “playful” would jazz it up (even though the graphics themselves are anything BUT fun and playful-which I do love the contrast of it).

This packaging, however, isn’t just for one item but a pack. This pack includes sunglass, shoes, t-shirt, and a banner.

I’m planning to submit this piece to The 5th Annual The Dieline Awards. What are you thoughts? Should I submit it?

I haven’t posted this on behance yet, but I’ll update this post with the link once its up to see more info on the project.

Till then, Take care y’all!

Hey everyone!

Today I’m just posting some of the stuff that don’t get to have much online publicity (mainly because they are not within the realm of graphic design). I do delve into many other types of art, so I thought it’d be fun to show you guys some things that I do other than graphic art  🙂

These are a photo series that I actually got really into and might want to continue, solely because it looks so strange and intriguing (I don’t have a name for the series yet).

The subjects are my siblings (and I still have a few more!). I like how its a pretty simple, yet complex look. It kind of has this dreamy lighting and colors…

Another photo that I took:

Also, I took a look at my last blog post before I went MIA and I finished the book with those snapshots. If you want to check it and along with my other work, I’ll link it Here.

And one more thing! I have an interview tomorrow for an internship! I hope it turns out well (I mean, it HAS to if he contacted me first, right? Here’s to hoping!)

I hope everyone is doing well,

Till then!

Good Morning!

I just wanted to make a quick post on what I am currently working on. I’m doing a project called “10, 10, 100” (10 people, 10 questions, 100 answers). What it is is that I asked 10 people 10 questions about my topic, which in this case is childhood. Then I create a spread reflecting that person’s answers and/or personality.

Here are some snaps/sneak peaks:
